PENALTY FOR BREACH: Match play – loss of hole; Stroke play – 2 strokes.

  1. Obstructions. The following objects are Immovable Obstructions. If the ball is in or on the obstruction, or the object interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, relief is to be taken as directed and in accordance with Rule 24-2b.

  1. Abnormal Ground Conditions. The following objects/conditions are Abnormal Ground Conditions and relief may be taken in accordance with Rule 25-1.

  1. Ground Under Repair. The following objects are defined as Ground Under Repair. If the ball is in or on object, or the object interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, relief is to be taken as directed and in accordance with Rule 25-1.

  1. Ball Striking the Racetrack Fence. If it is known or virtually certain that a ball has struck the racetrack fence or other fitting, whether or not in place, other than where the fence defines a boundary to the course, the stroke must be immediately cancelled and the player must play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was played in accordance with Rule 20-5.

Note: This Local Rule does not apply where the fence defines the boundary of the course, nor does it apply to the fencing stored on the left side of the third fairway.

  1. Intervention by Racetrack Fence. If the racetrack fence or other fitting, whether or not in place, intervenes directly on the player’s line of play and there is no physical interference by the fence/fitting, the ball may be lifted and dropped, without penalty, at a point that is on an extension of the line from where the ball lay to the hole, with no limit to how far behind the original position the ball may be dropped. This point must be

(a) not nearer the hole than the player’s original position, and

(b) not in a hazard or on a putting green.

Exception: The player may not take relief if it is clearly unreasonable for him to make a stroke because of interference by anything other than the fence/fitting.
