Nestled in the picturesque Wine and High Country region of Victoria, the Alexandra Golf Club offers a serene and challenging golfing experience. The course is adorned with beautiful old red gums and features gently undulating grassed fairways and grass greens. Unlike many other courses, it has no sand bunkers, but water hazards come into play on several holes, adding to the challenge. The club provides opportunities for both members and non-members to enjoy the course, with clubs and buggies available for hire. The licensed clubroom also boasts barbecue facilities, making it a perfect spot for social gatherings after a round of golf.
The Alexandra Golf Club is uniquely laid out on a public reserve in and around the Alexandra Racing Club racetrack. The front nine holes are generally around the outside of the racetrack, while the back nine are mostly inside the track, with some fairways crossing over. The course features several large dams that provide a challenge on some holes and ensure the greens, surrounds, and tee boxes remain in pristine condition year-round.
